New Farmers Market Style CSA We just changed how we run our CSA program. Until now, all our CSA members received a prepacked bag. Now we are offering a much more flexible program. All of our produce will be sold in a farmers market format. Members will come to our market (at the same pickup sites as before) and pick and choose which vegetables they want to bring home and how much they want. This means we can begin delivering produce for the CSA much earlier and continue much later. Instead of a 16 week CSA season, it will be much closer to 25-30 weeks. Instead of a fixed size and price, we will just have a minimum price for membership. It will work as a prepay system. The entire amount that each member pays for membership will be used to pay for the produce they want. The advantage is that they will receive a 25% discount on the produce they select. For those new to our website, we are a certified organic  CSA,  offering organic vegetables and fruit to Rabun County and the surrounding communities in Northeast GA and Western NC.   Coleman River Farms is located in beautiful Persimmon Valley, approximately 20 minutes from Clayton, GA or 20 minutes from Hiawasse, Georgia. To those of you who are wondering, "What is a CSA?", It is simply pledging to help a local farmer cover his expenses in exchange for produce. In our case, each member receives all the produce they want at a 25% discount from the market prices. Each week members choose from whatever is in season. Our aim will be to provide a choice of 6-8 varieties of vegetables per week, sometimes more!  We will provide everything from arugula to zuchinni.
